Amanda-Jane (AJ) Cripps - Chair of the Board of Directors
AJ is an experienced school governor and a qualified secondary school teacher. She is a Local Leader of Governance (LLG) for the south west region and recently took up post as Wiltshire's Lead for Governor Development. AJ has successfully completed the NGA training for Chair of Governors and recently led Eastrop and Southfield’s governors to the grand final of the 2019 NGA’s Outstanding Governance Awards for Vision and Strategy. The partnership of Eastrop and Southfield was recognised nationally and the schools were awarded a trophy and certificate as finalists.
Jan Milsom - Director and Chair of the Standards and Performance Committee
Now retired after a varied and successful career in teaching, including headship of an infant and nursery school and as a local authority strategy adviser, Jan is equipped with the necessary skills to be an effective director who has sound knowledge and understanding of what effective governance looks like. Jan’s educational understanding enables her to lead strategically on standards and performance. Jan also sits on the Governing Bodies of three other primary settings in Swindon.
Robin James - Director
Robin worked for BT with a background in project management, systems, procedures and health, safety and environment eventually leading on procurement and waste environmental issues for ISO14001. Most recently, Robin was a part-time Information Manager for a Swindon based charity, promoting IT use in deprived areas, developing all key charity policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance. Robin chaired the Finance and Premises committees for both founding schools for a number of years and has been instrumental to working strategically with school leaders to ensure budgets are solvent.
Matt Hudson - Director
Matt is a senior Human Resources (HR) professional with experience in large organisations within the hospitality, utility, and defence sectors. He is commercially astute with a proven track record of delivery and successful project management. Matt is CIPD qualified and a chartered member of the CIPD and has the proven skills to contribute to the Board of Directors with a focus on HR in order to hold the CEO and CFOO to account.
Andrew Garland - Director
As a company director of his own business coaching and consulting company, Andrew brings over 30 years' leadership experience to Grove Learning Trust. He has a passion for sharing knowledge, learning and self-development, but more importantly enjoys helping people make the right decisions. His background spans a wide range of industries, from aviation - security - retail, and following the completion of his MBA he has been employed in many senior executive and leadership roles across several different countries. Andrew has over 10 years previous educational governance experience as board chair and finance, audit and education committee lead positions.
Bill Roe - Director
Clive has just completed the maximum nine year term as a Trustee for Prospect Hospice in Swindon.
Aaron is a qualified head teacher (NPQH, 2012) with nearly 20 years’ experience in primary schools as a teacher and school leader. His first headship was of a 2-form entry primary school and 100-place children’s centre, in which he led a large staff team from a then double “satisfactory” Ofsted judgment to “good”. Since moving back to the south west, Aaron held the headship of Eastrop Infant School, then the executive headship of both Eastrop Infant and Southfield Junior Schools, which led to the opening of Grove Learning Trust and Aaron's current role as a CEO. Aaron has previously undertaken work as an Ofsted Inspector and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Learning. He is currently undertaking his National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL) qualification.
