Chief Executive Officer
Aaron Griffiths is Grove Learning Trust’s CEO.
With teaching and leadership experience of the full primary age range, Aaron gained the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2012 and started his first headship soon after in 2013, successfully improving a 2-form entry primary school in central London from 'satisfactory' (as it was known then by Ofsted) to 'good' in a short space of time.
The highly effective headteacher has directed improvement extremely well to improve pupils’ educational opportunities. He communicates his high expectations tenaciously and persuasively, so that all staff have a shared sense of direction and feel part of a successful team. Consequently, all aspects of the school have improved since the last inspection (Ofsted, 2013).
After relocating from London to Swindon, Aaron became the head teacher of Eastrop Infant School in 2016 and from the following year, provided leadership support to Southfield Junior School for just over a term. Following the development of a successful partnership of the two single academy trusts, governors of the two schools appointed Aaron as the executive head teacher in 2018. With a re-focused and well-trained team of skilled leaders and staff, Aaron successfully improved Southfield's reputation, standards and outcomes, which resulted in a 'good' outcome (from 'requires improvement in 2017) in a Section 5 inspection led by Ofsted.
The executive headteacher quickly established a cohesive team of skilled leaders. Together, they have rapidly addressed the areas for improvement from the previous inspection. (Ofsted, 2019)
From December 2019, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aaron leads on the trust’s central services and school improvement strategy.
Aaron is Grove Learning Trust’s Accounting Officer.
